In the present study, the oral and bronchial strains of human trichomonads isolated and axenized in Estonia were compared mutually as well as with a Trichomonas tenax reference strain and other trichomonad species from humans and animals with the aim being to clarify the taxonomy of trichomonads associated with human respiratory diseases.

Trichomonády izolované z ústní dutiny a dýchacích cest lidí v Estonsku byly porovnány s referenčním kmenem Trichomonas tenax a dalšími druhy trichomonád z člověka a zvířat s cílem objasnit taxonomii trichomonád, které jsou spojovány s onemocněními dýchacího aparátu lidí.
