Autor poukazuje na to, že přímočarý realismus je slučitelný s pluralitou možných způsobů vypovídání o světě a že poskytuje dobrou bázi pro pragmatické pojetí jazyka. Konfrontuje tento typ realismu s realistickou doktrínou založenou na ne-epistemickém pojetí pravdy.

The author argues that the common sense-realism is compatible with the plurality of possible ways of speaking about the world and that it provides a good basis for the pragmatic account of language. He confronts this kind of realism with the realistic doctrine based on the non-epistemic notion of truth.
