V úvodu je představena otázka dvojjazyčnosti, s níž souvisí i pronikání komických a burleskních prvků skrze vernakulární jazyk do původního liturgického jádra her. Následující analýza komických prvků a scén dvou her velikonoční dramatiky ze 14. stol.

The study focuses on the elements of the comic and humor in Easter and Passion drama of medieval Bohemia and their relation to the sacral, serious frame of the religious play and above all to the central figure of Jesus Christ. The analysis of comic aspects and humor is based on the two types of the medieval play characteristic of medieval Bohemia and Central Europe, i. e. the Latin-Czech Easter play of three Marys staged in the context of liturgy and the extraliturgical vernacular Passion play staged outside. At first the problem of bilingualism is introduced, as well as the related penetration of comic and burlesque elements through vernacular language into the primarily liturgical nucleus of plays. The following analysis of comic elements and scenes of the two Easter plays from 14th century (Ordo trium personarum and Ludus pasce) focuses above all on the Hortulanus episode and its comics based on the contrast or dichotomy of the two contrasting images of Jesus Christ – a rude gardener attacking Mary Magdalene and the Risen Lord. At the same time the comic scenes and unrestrained humor in Easter plays are reflected as the expression of joy of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ (the Man), his triumph over sin and promise of eternal life and salvation, and at the same time as the expression of Easter laughter (risus paschalis). The second part of the study is focused on comic aspects of the only extant vernacular Passion play from Bohemia, s. v. St Vitus Play, from the end of 14-th century. The text reveals „crude“ humor and „blasphemous“ laughter of the figures (Longinus, Gocin and devil servants) who mock Christ suffering on the cross and „desacrate“ his Resurrection. The analysis of the comic in both types of the play shows, among other things, that the coarse and seemingly „blasphemous“ humor is an integral part of the religious play and is not contrary to its serious and sacral level.
