The article deals with the figure of biblical Eve from the well known French medieval mystery drama Jeu d´Adam (The Play of Adam) written in Anglo-Norman in 12-th century. In the introduction the author gives a brief overview of the apearance of Eve in the medieval drama in general Subsequently the author focuses on the interpretation of the old French Eve in Jeu d´Adam who is definitely the most remarkable and unique picture of the dramatic figure in the context of European drama. Here Eve appears to be the most interesting, multi-faceted figure of the whole play. The article further discusses several aspects of Eve on the basis of her relation to other drama characters (Adam, God and Devil represented by Serpent) with regard to her general role in the play.
