Jejich společným rysem je zkušenost příslušníků nejstarší generace s dobrovolnou nebo nucenou mezinárodní migrací po druhé světové válce. Autoři vybrali rodiny Němců v České republice a nuceně vysídlených Němců z České republiky, Čechů žijících v Chorvatsku a českých reemigrantů z Chorvatska. Velkou pozornost věnují účasti jednotlivých generací na rodinném vyprávění, shodám a změnám v mezigeneračním předávání vzpomínek a způsobu přijetí významných historických událostí souvisejících s poválečnou migrací. Kniha přináší poznatky o strategiích přenosu vzpomínek v rodinném prostředí a kultuře vzpomínání a o migraci jako důležitém historickém procesu 20. století a zkoumá komunikativní i kulturní paměť vybraných skupin obyvatelstva. Překlad anotace The monograph deals with the issue of family memory in the example of three consecutive generations in four different groups of the population. The key to the selection of the investigated groups was the experience of forced or voluntary migrations in the post-war period, and the accompanying historic events and processes of the 20th century which had a significant impact on the lives of the members of the oldest generation. The selected groups include Germans living in the Czech Republic and Germans forcibly expelled from Czechoslovakia after WW II, Czechs living in Croatia and Czechs resettled from Croatia after WW II. Through interviews with members of three generations the authors have the opportunity to observe metamorphoses of generational interpretations of the family narratives. They determine the main contents of family memory, including the semantic shifts that had taken place in their intergenerational imparting within the family, and in this process they detect the mechanisms and strategies of transmission of these contents. The constructed knowledge about the family history is placed within the context of discourses created about the past on the level of the elites of these groups and nation states. The authors pay their attention to communicative and cultural memory of these selected social groups. The fundamental contribution of this book is its focus on the transmission processes of family memory and the strategies and mechanisms employed in connection with the politics of remembering at the national level as well as at the mezzo-level of organisations of selected social groups.
