Anotace
Nikolaus von Jauer gilt als Musterbeispiel eines Universitätsgelehrten, der die katholische Position gegen die hussitische Lehre verteidigte. Sein Traktat gehört zu einem Korpus von elf Reaktionen, die inhaltlich auf die hussitischen Manifeste aus den Jahren 1430/31 reagieren. Durch die Erschließung der Originalquellen und die interdisziplinäre Herangehensweise wird aufgezeigt, dass besonders die Interpretation des Hussitismus als Häresie ein verbindendes Element in der Argumentation darstellt. Es bietet sich ein eindrucksvoller Einblick in den katholisch-hussitischen Diskurs, wobei deutlich wird, wie der “Glaubenskrieg” in schriftlicher Form und mit propagandistischen Waffen ausgefochten wurde.
Překlad anotace
Nicholas of Jawor is a classic example of a university professor who defended Catholic positions against Hussite teachings. His treatise Scriptum contra epistolam Hussitarum belongs to the corpus of 11 responses to the Tábor Manifestos of 1430 and 1431. The analysis of the nine main themes of the treatise was elaborated on the basis of an interdisciplinary methodology, including a study of Nicholas’ sources and analyses of the philosophical, theological and historical contexts. This book, the connecting element of which is the subject of heresy, offers an innovative view into the Catholic-Hussite issue and makes evident with which weapons was fought the written war over the faith.
