Der Artikel analysiert den Text aus dem Jeremiabuch 20,7–11a(11b–13). Dieser Text wird als eine der sogenanten Konfessionen Jeremias aufgefasst, und so als ein Zeugnis über das Ringen des Propheten um Sinn seiner prophetischen Aufgabe. Sein persönlicher Schmerz entspringt aus dem Konflikt zwischen seiner Treue zu seiner Sendung und der Effektolsigkeit seines Prophetierens. Aus senier Situation einer Ausweglosigkeit kann ihn erst eine authentische Relativierung seines Konflikts mit seiner Gegnern befreien.

The article analyzes the text from the Book of Jeremiah 20,7–11a(11b–13). This text is taken as one of the so-called Confessions of Jeremiah, and so as a testimony about the struggle of the Prophet for the sense of his prophetic task. His personal pain arises from the conflict between his loyalty to his mission and the unsuccessfulness of his prophecy. From his situation of hopelessness can him rescue only an authentic relativization of his conflict with his opponents.
